New Harley Quinn print for NYCC!

As New York Comic Con approaches, it occurred to me what I wanted to go in with *at least* one new print. And while I had a number of Young Justice prints to offer, I had nothing connected to my work on the Harley Quinn animated series, which has been my day job for more than two years now.

Years ago when I was drawing The Batman Strikes (tie-in comics for the 2004 The Batman animated series) one of my favorite covers I did on that title happened to feature Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, so I decided to remake that cover in the style of the current Harley Quinn animated series and make that my newest 11″x17″ color print. After NYCC this will be added to the prints available in my Etsy store, but it will make its debut at this year’s New York Comic Con. Like my other prints it will be available at my convention rate of $20, or 3 prints for $50.

I’M BACK!!! (The Web Page Returns)

Some time ago something went and broke on my web page preventing me from creating new posts. Given that I wasn’t working on much that I could be actively posting about at the time, I hadn’t felt a great deal of urgency in fixing it with all the other things I was dealing with. ESPECIALLY since I had platforms like my Facebook Page and Twitter where I could post when I had something I wanted to say. But I finally reached out to Hal’s Pages.com with their help I got my web page up and running again.

I will try to post more regularly here, although I’m still dealing with the fact that most of my day-to-day work is on projects covered by NDA’s that I can’t talk about. But I can post about upcoming appearances like conventions or signings, or when something I’ve worked on is coming out.

I’ll to do better at keeping in touch, friends and fans. You do the same, won’t you?

It’s been the year without conventions…

After having had to pass on Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) this year because of scheduling, the pandemic saw the cancellation of my usual cycle of conventions: Emerald City Comic Con, MCBA SpringCon, CONvergence, and now New York Comic Con. I’ve been working away as part of the crew of Season 4 of Young Justice from my apartment in Studio City, CA. I’m doing fine, but definitely missing my usual convention rounds. I’ve missed the time with friends, the travel, meeting fans, and the whole convention experience. So I jumped at the chance to take part in the Metaverse event put on my Reedpop, the people behind NYCC.

Star Trek signing with Paul Cornell at Atomic Basement Comics

On Wednesday February 12, writer Paul Cornell and I will be signing our Star Trek: Year Five Valentine’s Day Special at starting at 7:00pm at Atomic Basement Comics.

I’m really proud of this book. It’s got a great script by Paul that has all the best, most charming aspects of James T. Kirk presented in a fresh, modern narrative. The story feels remarkably significant and life-spanning, while being told in only 20 pages. The interior colors are by my friend Charlie Kirchoff and letters by Neil Uyetake. And one of the variant covers (pictured) is by me, linework and color! I can’t wait for everybody to see this one.

Paul and I are signing at Atomic Basement Comics and then we’re off to the Gallifrey One convention this weekend at the Mariott Los Angeles Airport Hotel, where we will be talking about the book again as a part of the Current Star Trek Comics panel on Sunday afternoon at 2pm!

It’s a free event, so come see us!
