Some time ago something went and broke on my web page preventing me from creating new posts. Given that I wasn’t working on much that I could be actively posting about at the time, I hadn’t felt a great deal of urgency in fixing it with all the other things I was dealing with. ESPECIALLY since I had platforms like my Facebook Page and Twitter where I could post when I had something I wanted to say. But I finally reached out to Hal’s Pages.com with their help I got my web page up and running again.
I will try to post more regularly here, although I’m still dealing with the fact that most of my day-to-day work is on projects covered by NDA’s that I can’t talk about. But I can post about upcoming appearances like conventions or signings, or when something I’ve worked on is coming out.
I’ll to do better at keeping in touch, friends and fans. You do the same, won’t you?
I finally have a gap in my comics schedule and for a limited time am taking commissions for custom sketches. I get lots of requests outside of conventions, but am usually dealing with comic book deadlines that are too tight for me to consider additional work, so now’s your chance!

The Guest of Honor at CONsole Room this year is Doctor Who‘s Sixth Doctor, Colin Baker. Given that, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to add an 11×17″ color portrait of The Sixth Doctor to my collection of Doctor Who prints!

The second issue of my new science fiction adventure comic book series Parallel Man: Invasion America hits stores today!
The story of Parallel Man follows Commander Nick Morgan — an intelligence agent from an evil version of America in an alternate universe. His government, known as The Ascendancy, has attacked and enslaved eleven other Earths and has its sights set on our world as their next target for their empire. Nick’s counterpart on our Earth is Nicholas Morgan, just an average gamer and about as far from a trained military operative as you can get. He gets pulled into the action when The Ascendancy’s Major Mackenzie Cartwright comes looking for Tobias Morgan, Nick’s grandfather, who holds they key to a superweapon that could control the Ascendancy’s destiny.
There’s lots more information about Parallel ManHERE.
You can order Parallel Man: Invasion America in digital form from Comixology.
Because FutureDude Entertainment is a new, small publisher, there is absolutely no guarantee that your local comics shop will stock it unless YOU ask them to. That’s right – you calling up or walking into your local comics shop and asking them to order a comic from a small publisher can significantly help make or break the distribution of the entire series. Parallel Man: Invasion America is no different! So, please, help get Parallel Man out there by pre-ordering it today!
I am delighted to formally announce that my next project is a story for DC Comics’ Batman ’66 – part of their Digital First tier of books and based on the classic 1960s Batman TV series staring Adam West. Here’s the solicitation for the print version:
Cover for Batman ’66 #7 by Mike Allred
BATMAN ‘66 #7 Written by JEFF PARKER and TOM PEYER Art by CHRISTOPHER JONES and DEREC DONOVAN Cover by MICHAEL ALLRED On sale JANUARY 22 • 40 pg, FC, $3.99 US • RATED E • DIGITAL FIRST Horrors! Bruce Wayne is trying to scam a jewelry store and put the blame on poor Aunt Harriet? Or could it actually be the work of that mysterious master of disguises, False Face? Then, find out how crime really pays when the Clown Prince of Crime tries to downsize his mob in “The Joker’s Layoff Riot.”
I’m doing the False Face story in the issue, written by Jeff Parker. I can’t share any artwork from it yet, but I *can* show you the Batman art I did to be approved to work on the comic! This is a real treat for me to work on as I’m a HUGE fan of the 60’s Batman series, and the False Face episode is among my favorites. In fact, there’s also a cameo by my *absolute favorite* villain from the show, but you’ll have to pick the book up when it comes out to learn who that is!
You can look for print versions at your local comic shop when they come out, or look for it in Digital Form on Comixology where you can currently find past issues of the series. The book is presented in DC Comics’ DC2 (pronounced “DC Squared”) format, where each tap of the screen actively advances the next element of the story, whether it’s the next panel or individual art elements on the page. It’s been an interesting challenge creating artwork for that format, but I think it creates a reason to seek out the digital version of the story rather than waiting for it to be collected in a print format later!
I’m having the best time working on this, and I think it shows in the pages. I can’t wait for the story can come out so you can see for yourself!
Christopher Jones is a comic book artist who has worked on DC's Young Justice, The Batman Strikes!, Batman '66, Justice League Adventures; Marvel's Superhero Squad, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes; Titan's Doctor Who; Re-Animator, Dr. Blink: Superhero Shrink & more!
