In a last-minute addition to my appearance schedule, I’ll be a Special Guest of Honor at Ocomicon is taking place Thursday August 15, 2013 in Oconomowoc, WI. (And I mean REALLY last minute! When I woke up Tuesday morning, I didn’t know I was going to be doing this!)

Ocomicon is a comics-themed charity event that in past years has attracted around 8,000 people, and takes over a chunk of downtown Oconomowoc! The event is FREE to attend!
We are shutting down the entire Downtown area on Wisconsin Avenue and creating a fun and free venue for kids and adults alike. It is two full city blocks of comics-themed fun!

SPECIAL GUEST OF HONOR: ASHLEY MARIE WITTER (Artist/illustrator – Yen Press, Reign of Adeodatus and Scorch)
GUEST OF HONOR: ERIK JOHNSON (Writer/Artist of the newly published Outlier.)

I’ll have my usual convention exclusives like the ever-popular Disco Wing mini-print!

Other attractions include a live concert by the band Natty Nation at 5:15pm, bouncy houses, superhero characters, costume contests, prize and goody givaways, and more!

At dusk (around 8:40pm) they’ll be showing The Avengers on a 65′ outdoor screen.

The event serves as a fundraiser for local food pantries, plus soda, water and popcicles will be sold at three stations along the street to raise money for a real Iron Man named Alex who is battling leukemia. Visit his page at www.IamIronMan.org.

I think this is going to be a lot of fun, so if you’re in the Oconomowoc area, stop by! Costumes are encouraged for kids and adults alike, but certainly not mandatory. Bring your own blanket or chair if you plan on staying for the outdoor showing of The Avengers. And please bring a non-perishable food donation for The Food Pantry of Oconomowoc.

Ocomicon is part of the Moonlit Movies of Oconomowoc, and you can read more about the event at their official website.

And as always, you can check on all my upcoming conventions and signings at the Appearances Page on my web site!
