As for the airfield, I found reference for a few different airfields which I drew from in combination with my imagination for that sequence. Were you specifically referring to that first establishing shot of the exterior of the hangar? I’m afraid I don’t recall what reference I used for that panel…

Glad you enjoyed it. I’m not surprised Perry White wasn’t recognized. He hasn’t appeared on the show and there was no dialog that indicated the man at the counter was Perry. He had only previously appeared as a small figure in the sequence with Superman trashing the Daily Planet back in issue #6. When the script called to have Perry at the counter, I tried to add a hint that it was Perry by placing a copy of the Daily Planet newspaper in his hand, but that was far from definitive. Hopefully Perry White isn’t the only reader. I know newspapers aren’t doing too well these days, but JEEZ…

Great read, Mr. Jones! I’m love reading these issue to issue commentaries. It’s also neat to get another perspective among the staff.

Cool! I’m really loving these issue to issue commentaries.

It went totally over my head that was Perry White. Great to see him again, aside from Superboy’s scenario in Issue #6. Also looks like Superman saved another bus in that Daily Planet he’s holding.

For that battle scene at St. George, was that the old airfield in Utah?
